Wheat Free?


We’re thinking that our youngest (now 9 months) may have a wheat intolerance/allergy/something….

We’re investing in Mum Mums for this kid, but tired of buying cases from amazon.com

Any snack ideas for a kiddo at this age who is having issues with wheat?

So a month or so ago, I made a chocolate cake and the recipe directed me to put flour in the cake pan. Thankfully, it was just for us to eat. I never would have taken it anywhere. It looked moldy and old!! I was bound and dertermined to never have that happen again! I found this great tip here: When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead-no white mess on the outside of the cake.

Stinky hands?


It inevitably happens, you chop an onion…now your hands stink!  Did you know wetting your hands and then rubbing baking soda on your hands – all over and then washing them clean will remove the stink?

Cracked Eggs?


Easter is coming up and many people hard-boil eggs for painting and hiding.

Do you constantly find your eggs are cracking while boiling? Add a tsp. or 2 of vinegar to the water – this should prevent your eggs from cracking! Let me know if this works for you!

Egg Substitute


I went to make pancakes the other night…and then realized we had no eggs!

I had tried applesauce in place of eggs before but hated the texture…

I had tried bananas, but of course we were out of eggs as well…

I was frantic! Then I found this

Quincy Vagell from Woodstock, CT writes; “Want to make Pancakes without added cholesterol and fat? For each egg, take a teaspoon of sugar, mixed with a teaspoon of flour. Mix the two and add a few drops of water. The mixture will make a creamy paste, which is similar to that of a scrambled egg. Add this mixture into pancake mixture and your pancakes will come out tasting great, and just a little bit healthier!” Thanks Quincy! This recipe is not only healthy, but oh so yummy!

I even tried it on a cake yesterday & it worked just as well!!!
